Why are you watching this show? Take 2

I had a poll back in July asking why you were watching Geass. After the events of R2 21, I want to ask the same question. After big revelations in the story, there are likely to be divided opinions, or opinions changed, or [whatever]. For me it’s still “Schneizel takes priority over all”. I could write a college thesis on that! But how about the others? :?:

Edit: APPARENTLY PUTTING THE POLL IN THE POST MAKES WORDPRESS POLLS GO BATSHIT.

FUN REMINDERS

  • Schneizel first mentioned Cambodia in S1 20. He talks of a Toromo Institute located in Cambodia which Kannon later mentions in R2 15. This place has to do with Damocles’s development (the tower with the various float system devices in the opening - maybe we should just call it Messiah), as his “thing” in R2 15 with the Toromo Institute was going to largely depend on if FLEIA failed or succeeded in R2 15.
    • Schneizel also mentions a Rosenberg Institute to Bartley in S1 22. Orange and Siegfried were to be sent there.
  • The Ragnarok Connection was first mentioned in S1 01 during the scene in which Lelouch receives makes his contract. The Emperor says, “The Ragnarok Connection. The legend begun yet again?” What this means, after watching R2 21, is a whole lot of :?: but I maintain the belief that he refers to the legend to mean “the legend of the cycle of death and rebirth”. Alternatively, it meant something else at first and has since changed.
  • The Thought Elevator is first mentioned in S1 18. The Emperor says that the construction of the Thought Elevator is going as planned.

The Dictionary of Charles

I suspect people will have varied interpretations on what each individual piece of the puzzle does. :j: This is my take. Read more »

God is history

The World of C is the collective unconscious. It collects souls; the thoughts and memories of those souls. Within it, reincarnation occurs because the thoughts of the dead resurface. Some people call it the great will, some people call it God.

Charles says he wanted to kill this “God” but is that really what he meant? This “God” is, basically, history. You can’t defeat it. You can’t change history - it’s already happened. Charles wanted to change the past, bring the dead back to life (Edit: This is not literally, I mean in the terms of how they would have been able to communicate with the dead again if the Ragnarok Connection had been successful), and figured he could do so by destroying the boundary between man and “God”.

Namely, Charles wanted his mother back. He hated the throne for it’s what put his family in turmoil, yet he took it. He extended this desire for himself and mutated it into what he thought was something for the good of mankind. Like father, like son. Where they differ is in the part of God that has yet to be created, the future.

But where does say, Marianne, fit into this? Why did she side with Charles? For what purpose did C.C. create something like the Followers of Geass? :?:

R2 21

This episode was the best ep of R2 in that it was completely entertaining from start to finish. I’m not really sure what else to say besides that, nor do I know how to properly convey what I mean by “entertaining”, but I am watching Geass because I think it’s entertaining. Whether this is because I mean entertaining by “So bad it’s good” or not is irrelevant to fact that this was genuinely entertaining. This was wholly satisfying, and I am confused, entertained, laughing, and HOLYFUCKSCHNEIZEL all at once. Read more »

Lelouch and Suzaku switch!

Oh damn this is from like 6hrs ago. Thought I posted it before I went to bed. D:

[Xabin] kawaii
[raspberry] lol is that schneizel taking over great britannia :v
[Xabin] rofl @ lelouch saying “maybe you were right, suzaku. what’s important is the method.”
[raspberry] they’re going to switch ideals
[raspberry] at ep 21
[raspberry] :WOOP:
[Xabin] >_>
[raspberry] lelouch becomes a methodman, and now suzaku only cares for results
[Xabin] and then suzaku becomes zero
[raspberry] oshi-
[raspberry] LELOUCH PILOTS LANCELOT ALBION

Xabin and I have figured out the rest of the series! (Well, no.) But it’s been 41 episodes, 2 recaps, and 22 months since Suzaku told Lelouch in S1 04 that RESULTS ARE NOT THE RIGHT APPROACH… Just for him to come to this, and Lelouch to wonder if methods are the right way in the extended preview.

Papa takes his son to the library

Extended preview of R2 21 shows Charles and Lelouch in the Sword of Akasha, which then transforms into a library. In R2 21, Charles introduces Lelouch to the public library and how to use the library card. D’aaaaaaaaaaaaaw.

Also at the end of the preview, it shows the Knight of One bowing before Schneizel. Guess Schneizel doesn’t give a shit about Suzaku as his Knight of One anymore when he can have Bismark, the Knight of brOkEN.
