Schneizel, there’s way to win this series: Sit on the sidelines, let Lelouch and Dad kill each other, then come in at the last moment and be like “fuck yeah I win by default”. Srsly. He could make this like Hamlet and be Prince Forbitinas. But it looks like Schneizel wants in on Curly and Lelouch’s super fun awesome times with Geass. Schneizel’s behavior indicates that he’s setting himself up to be fucked in the ass a few times over by the end. Not that I mind of course, Yaoi fangirl that I am.
R2 17 showed that despite his Geass researching, he hasn’t really discovered much. Cornelia with one arm and no resources has been doing better than him at this shit, though he hasn’t had a year to fully devote himself to doing that since it’d be treeeason against Dad. If Lelouch had gone, “Sure big brother I’ll trust you”, I assume he would’ve played the Nunnally card to interrogate Lelouch to find out info about Geass. He does seem to have heard about Lelouch’s power before, as Guilford’s betrayal didn’t seem to shake him much, and he commented about not having any choice but to believe now, a comment about Lelouch’s power. By the end of the episode, he’s attempting to emotionally blackmail Suzaku into telling him more about Geass, plus drop Freya on Tokyo. (I really hope no one thought that Canon’s comment about, “If you had just told Schneizel this from the start, this shit never would’ve happened” was sincere.)
Even though he knows jack shit about Geass and what is actually going on behind the scenes, at the end of R2 17 he seems pretty confident that everything has fallen into place for him now and he’s got the cards in his hands. That’s quite a bit of faith in magic vacuum implosion whatever atom bombs and that “Damocles” thing he spoke of before. Believe in the heart of the cards, Schneizel! Read more »
I thought the Black Knights betrayal of Zero wouldn’t make any sense and that it would just run like another plot point on Taniguchi’s episode Power Point. From the audience PoV, they kind of suck without him. I questioned how much the magical tape recording would be able to sway them. Sure, Asahina, Chiba, and Minami have always kind of been like “Fuuuck Zero”, but they seemed to put up with him regardless. I figured they were a minority opinion and they just put up with him and stayed for other reasons. But when I thought these things, I was unaware that the tape recording would have Lelouch lying out of his ass and getting down on his hands and knees to try to appease Suzaku. Read more »
Is this some possible evil Schneizel face I see here on the extended preview in shitty YouTube quality?! Here is my awesome prediction post for ep 18: “Schneizel will make delicious smirking guy faces through the whole episode until the finale when Suzaku finally fucking uses Freya.” Is he going to make a sad face when Freya is used, or is he going to finally go FULL EVIL GUY MODE?! Also, Schneizel touched Nunnally on the shoulder. He’s clearly death flagged because people who touch Nunnally that Lelouch doesn’t like are going to die. He wasn’t really lying when he told her this would “all be over soon”, he just didn’t tell her that she’s probably going to die too. Oh Schneizel, the kind, dear older brother who leaves his younger siblings in the places where he’s about to order atom bombs to be dropped onto.
Speaking of Nunnally, she has like 80 death flags raised right now. The Korean stuff says that Lelouch loses Nunnally, that Nunnally’s status after the bombing is unknown, and that Rolo has to live past the bombing to escort Lelouch to Shinkirou just to die for him. So, Rolo is going to make it out of the Tokyo Settlement before bombing, and obviously without Nunnally. You’d think that Lelouch had learned to keep a behavior check on Rolo after the Shirley shit, not because he knew why Rolo killed her, but just as fucking common sense. Maybe Sayoko will save her by herself? Who knows. Sayoko has no way to fend off Rolo’s Chaos Control. He could freeze her, run up ahead to Nunnally, kill Nunnally, and “Oh oops Sayoko we didn’t make it in time it looks like she’s dead!” If Nunnally survives I guess its because Ms. Rohmeyer is also a ninja?!
Or maybe Nunnally has teleportation powers. Or maybe her wheelchair docks into Mazinkaiser. Or it has a jetpack. (None of these ideas are absurd btw because this is Geass.)
Horrible raw is horrible. <3
- Xingke fires the Baryon Cannon at the Knight of One, who then takes out Excalibur which gets a magical purple spiral power up that it uses to divide the beam and AoE fire blast the surrounding helicopters. Fucking calling it now: The Knight of One is getting Geassed into joining Lelouch because there’s no fucking way they’re defeating him.
- Edit: This is pretty god damn awesome and obviously I must think so enough to take the bloody movie of it. However, there’s no reason why I can’t ask where the fuck this technology came from while enjoying said badassery, but you know, if you question it, then its automatically assumed you didn’t like it. Tunnel vision is fucking awesome, Asuki.
- Schneizel and Canon actually did things in this episode. Holy shit.
- Lelouch sends Rolo and Sayoko to retrieve Nunnally. Rolo.
- Luciano tries to pull an airship down onto the Chinese Federation’s floating pyramid ship.
- Lelouch pre-Geassed Guilford into believing that Lelouch is Cornelia whenever Lelouch does his collar flick.
- Gefjun Train also comes into play this episode.
- Schneizel says something important sounding near the end about his CARD being in the HEAVENS. (?) COLONY DROP CONFIRMED Y/N? Edit Again and Again and Again: Oh wait fuck he says CARDS ARE IN HIS HAAAAND. Schneizel will believe in the heart of the cards, that are in his hand, and become awesome and awesomeify. He is putting quite a lot of faith in atom bomb-tan, I think.
- Orange had a badass connection sequence to SOMETHING. Must be the neo-Siegfried thing the Korean blog was talking about.
- Lastly, Lelouch and Suzaku’s friendship seems CANNOT BE REPAIRED now. Even though Suzaku made it obvious he had no idea what the fuck was going on when Canon showed up with the Glaston Knights to arrest Lelouch, Lelouch still thinks that Suzaku betrayed him. Basically everyone in this show is an idiot.
- Edit: Code Geass has one genre now, and it’s Super Robot, and that’s a justification for everything you can find wrong with the series. People on AnimeSuki said so, don’t bother them about it.
- Edit Again: The ep 18 preview gives away that the thing with the Slash Harkens in the op is the modified neo-Siegfried. D: (Edit Again and Again: No seriously guys aren’t these the same thing?)
- Edit Again and Again and Again and Again: I get the feeling the girls in the end frame eyecatch this week are pilots in the Grausam Valkyrie Squad.
- Edit Again and Again and Again and Again: Anyway, what this episode was really about was a battle of yaoi pairings. Schneizel x Canon couldn’t let Suzaku x Lelouch advance, so they came in the middle and cockblocked them. Meanwhile, Canon, despite his earlier uneasiness towards the atom bomb h4x, is now perfectly okay with all of this, without a doubt due to some “convincing” of Schneizel’s.
Koshimizu posted the ep 17 summary from TV Weekly. Based on it, the CompAce 17-20 stuff, and the Korean blog, I’m theorizing how 17-20, as well as the general end of the series, will get played out.
Again, please note, these are guesses based off of the TV guide summaries and the Korean Blog. In other words, they are “theories” not “summaries”. Read more »
