Peace versus a single life

Taking into account Kannon’s “YOU DON’T EVEN FUCKING CARE ABOUT YOURSELF” and Schneizel’s “Trade a single life in for peace, SAD BUT CANNOT COMPARE hurr” from R2 24, wouldn’t it have been a nice gesture if Schneizel had offered to swap places with the Tianzi in R2 09 when Zero has her at gunpoint and wants to run off with her? He was trying to create peace back then without bombing the fuck out of everyone… If both the treaty with the EU and the deal with China had gone through, then the three major super powers would’ve been “friends” with Britannia through some peace which treads on thin ice.

Of course, when you get into the details this is all kinds of stupid. There was the element of “Xingke is there too with his sword drawn”, Zero wouldn’t have to accept that trade, the Black Knights would’ve still been a problem especially if Britannia decided to put emphasis on Schneizel rather than what he was possibly trying to accomplish, etc. I’m mostly dwelling/rambling.

(…but on the note of the Black Knights and this situation, there’s something that bothers me about the China Arc. How exactly did the Eunuchs think they were preparing the Black Knights as a wedding gift? Were they trying to hide the details of the wedding from them? I guess not, since the Eunuchs apparently didn’t make any effort to prevent the Tianzi from inviting Kaguya. Her position within the Black Knights is pretty clear.)

R2 16 makes R2 09’s chess game make sense

Fuck I just realized something.

THIS SCENE IS ILLEGAL MOVE

Remember a long ass time ago when I said that in R2 09, Lelouch moving his king a square back was symbolic to him being a coward? I think I was right, but Schneizel is not the white king, Charles is. Schneizel was more than happy to offer up his King to Zero because he wants to get rid of daddy too. However, Lelouch is actually scared shitless of daddy so he, literally and on the chess board, takes a step back.

EVERYTHING WE KNOW IS A LIE. SCHNEIZEL IS ACTUALLY THE MAGICAL OFF-SCREEN GRAY PIECE. FUUUUUUUUUUUCK.

Awesome theory that makes R2 09 make way more sense

Maybe Schneizel is poor with alcohol and the epic illegal move occurred as a direct result of it? :keke:

(…or maybe that’s fruit punch…)
(…or perhaps the blood of many innocent children…)

So R2 09 had the highest ratings yet

It has been a long-running saying of mine that if SunRise wanted to make Geass the most awesome show ever, they should make a show called “Schneizel, Xingke and Orange’s Excellent Adventures”. (Also, yaoi.)

At a mighty 3.3%, R2 09 is currently R2’s best viewer pull in it’s new timeslot! AND GUESS WHAT IT HAD IN THIS EPISODE?!

R2 09 for Dummies

I’M TIRED OF WRITING THIS EXPLANATION TO PEOPLE, SO I’LL MAKE A DAMN BLOG POST THEN JUST LINK IT EVERY TIME THEY ASK. ARGH.

So uh, [THINGS HAPPEN] in this episode.

We must understand, first and foremost, that Lelouch kidnapping ChinaLoli and holding her at gunpoint is not really his “JUST AS PLANNED”. Lelouch got a smack of KEIKAKU NOT DOORI twice in this episode, and also psychoanalyzed by his fabulously hot and flaming gay older brother, which caused him to get emo and go kidnap little girls or something. Whatever.

Idea for Schneizel x Canon Fanfic

Takes place in between the night of the wedding reception and the morning of the wedding in China! Schneizel hears from Lloyd what Canon told Milly about their “relationship”, so he decides to “train” Canon (read: sexually abuse) not to run his mouth like that. I’M TRYING TO GET APHY TO WRITE IT WITH ME! gg writes yaoi fanfic FUCK YEAH.

Chess can also be used to represent yaoi

[aers|laptop] Well personally I think the symbolism in Schneizel moving his king is that he wants to be buddy-buddy with Zero.
[aers|laptop] And that Zero moving behind the pawn is because he is afraid of Schneizel’s advances.

I can’t believe my yaoi fangirl antics didn’t pick up on this!

Lets extend it further and say that the black pawn represents Nina, which also describes what happened in the episode (how she got between their game), and goes along with her black hair, and also goes along with the fact that Nina will probably flip sides before this all over so we can have an Elizabethan world view in which things “reset” thus Nina will go back to the Ashford gang who will have sided with Zero/Lelouch. I’m sure.

…hurrr.

Edit:
FURTHERMORE, by breaking the rules of chess to move his King closer to Zero, he shows his disregard for the rules when it comes to love, supporting the idea of blind love and love making you do crazy shit.

Oh shit I think this is the correct analysis.

Edit 2:
Also, you must consider that Canon told Milly that Schneizel likes weird people. PERHAPS HE CONSIDERS ZERO A WEIRD PERSON WORTHY OF HIS FABULOUS DESIRES.

Yellow Lelouch

If Lelouch had moved it anywhere besides behind the pawn, I wouldn’t think of this as symbolic to being a coward. :v!

CHESS IS SRS BUSINESS

:D
During the chess game in R2 09, Schneizel uses an illegal move to “checkmate” Zero. Kings aren’t allowed to put next to each other because that’s a stalemate. Schneizel doesn’t take the game seriously, at all, and moves his King right in front of Zero’s, and also 1 square away from a black pawn that could have taken it (this is done after Lelouch’s signature “MOVE THE KING” shit). In response, Zero continues playing the game, but instead of taking the white King or moving his pawn to take it, he backs out behind the pawn.

tl;dr:
Schneizel is an asshole who looks down on people and fucks with their heads.
Lelouch is a coward who hides behind people and gets fucked in the head. (And probably the ass too, by Suzaku.)

<3 Schneizel. He passes off assholeness as kindness and playfulness so eloquently. He seemed a bit "do it for the lulz".

No 1000 word essays required for this. I'm lookin @ you, AnimeSuki.

Edit: Ohey, symbolism.
Schneizel is like, “Your mask comes off if I win” @ the start. After Lelouch moves his king behind his pawn, Schneizel is like, “So that’s what kind of person you are”. He won, because Lelouch un-masked something about himself to Schneizel through the chess board. (Schneizel won anyway?! Oh my.)

China Arc [r2 09-10]

The preview for 09-10 that aired during the Geass Akiba Matsuri showed some events in China.

Ep 09:
- The Tian Zi is getting married.
- Kaguya is invited to the wedding due to friendship.
- The purpose of the wedding is to create peace between China and Britannia. (Implied through what Xing Ke is saying.)
- Xing Ke is conflicted over protecting/babysitting the Tian Zi, versus letting the wedding go through and creating peace between China and Britannia.

Ep 10:
- The Black Knights kidnap a person who Suzaku refers to as “denka”/Your Highness.
- Kallen and Toudou fight against Suzaku, and cover a vehicle being pursued by Britannia.

- Xing Ke piloting the Shen Hu is deployed against the Black Knights.

Inserting Schneizel where it is appropriate and making some assumptions:
The Tian Zi is getting married to Schneizel to establish peace between China and Britannia. Xing Ke is emo about who to support. The Black Knights crash the wedding and run off with the bride and groom. Xing Ke becomes un-emo because regardless of whether he wants peace with Britannia or not, the Tian Zi just fucking got kidnapped. Suzaku and Xing Ke launch in their respective KMF’s to retrieve their respective leaders.

Obviously Orange is going to show up and save the day!
