Given my theory about KANNON=NAOTO, I realized that I should have been able to guess how to romanize his name “properly” based on thinking that he’s Naoto and how Kallen’s name romanization goes.
カレン -> Karen -> Kallen
カノン -> Kanon -> Kannon
Ka -> Ka
Middle consonant -> Doubled
Oh Naoto-kun, you silly fag.
The new magazine summaries and information are out. They spoil how Kallen escapes: Sayoko saves her at the government building when she’s about to be executed, then they fly out in the Guren [Long Name] and she apparently fights Luciano. Probably rescues Lelouch when he’s tied up by Luciano in the preview. So I guess she refuses Gino’s offer, and he’s like “Sorry babe we gotta kill you then”. But what the fuck? They’re trying to execute Kallen during the battle of Tokyo during the black out?
But uh, anyway, this means that… Rolo is going to get Nunnally by himself? Lelouch, you’re a fucking genius. Yeah lets send the nameless grunts with Rolo to help him get Nunnally instead of Sayoko. Makes perfect fucking sense. Even if Lelouch Geass’ed the nameless grunts, Rolo can still time freeze them. Maybe he Geassed Rolo to not be a fucking shitcunt.
Oh, and about Nunnally, some people think that the younger, child Charles looks similar to Nunnally. And she has some magical lie detector power. CALLING IT NOW: Nunnally is a female clone of Charles, pure and unable to lie but able to detect lies, who will become leader of the new world after Charles destroys and re-creates the world through Ragnarok!
The ep 22 summary indicates that Lelouch is going to get emo and run off to a place of neutrality that’s from his memories. /a/ believes this is Australia and I’m just going to agree with them. Alternatively, perhaps Area 11 has gone into neutrality after being bombed to fuck by His Royal Hotness.

This is Kallen’s family photo from S1 09. The guy on the right is her brother, Naoto. Naoto supposedly used to be the leader of the small resistance group, then he died and Ougi took over. In an interview, an [important Geass staff person] said Naoto is dead. Later, this became, “Kallen thinks he’s dead”. To get to the point, he kinda looks like Canon. “Looks like Canon” + “Kallen only thinks he’s dead” = “HOLY SHIT THIS IS NAOTO?” I thought about this earlier in R2, but I figured it was just a character design coincidence when Kallen didn’t seem to react to him at the chess match in China. But then in R2 13, the mystery of why Kallen might not be able to recognize him was solved: Kallen’s Int stat is only 40. It now seems completely feasible that Kallen is just retarded and doesn’t recognize him! So, same person, yes/no? Lazy character designer, maybe? Emperor mind wiped him?
If he is the same fucking person, then it sounds like it was not JUST AS PLANNED to have him be alive in the first story draft, I mean… Shit, they changed Naoto from “dead” to “might be dead”. Canon himself is described as being someone who is usually tagging along with Schneizel, so why wouldn’t he be introduced in S1? Why wouldn’t he be tagging along to Area 11? The first instance we hear of Canon is on DVD Magazine 02 when Schneizel says he has an unfavorable-looking report about the Chinese Federation. Maybe this China-related distraction is their excuse for why Schneizel’s little pet wasn’t with him in Area 11 in S1. This feels like how they added the Knights of Rounds and Jeremiah’s history into the Picture Drama.

Kallen: Yay!

Kallen: ….oni-chan….
Canon: With a Brittanian Prince!

Speaking of Kallen’s family, Kallen’s dad. What’s up with this guy? It’s hinted he’s some SUPER AWESOME COOL guy in Britannia. Oho, MAYBE HE WORKS FOR SCHNEIZEL, LIKE 90% OF THE BRITANNIAN CAST?!
Edit: Oh s;dlfkksld;f I just thought of something hilarious. Naoto is a fairly common Japanese name meaning “straight (as in honest) person”. How fucking ironic would it be for “Straight Person” Kouzuki to be mindraped into being Schneizel’s gay boytoy.
