Rolo is meta as fuck

Any doubts I had in regards to posting about that interview and mentioning that bit about Rolo in my little bit afterwards have been removed. This is flawless.

It all makes sense now. My hat is off to this Anon.

This reminds me of art critics trying to analyze what an artist is trying to express in a painting. I am not a fan of those either, since the potential for BS (even if it is convincing BS) is OVER NINE THOUSAND.

This is my favourite analysis of an anime since the one that Evangelion ep 26 is all about making the show itself.

    Well played.

lol koda, I kind of…wrote that last night and left my name off it since I thought it would not be well-received. I’m glad you liked it. Wouldn’t have come up with it without your entry of course. :)

It is pretty fucking brilliant, I must say. Glad I (or anyone else) didn’t post about it to the LJ comm until I saw that and could throw it in there.

Especially in the whole “Taniguchi decided to make R2 good even though Sunrise shat on his original plan” line. I think that a lot of people found this out and forgot that most of this shit went down a year ago, so they’re assuming that everything they hate about R2 is because Taniguchi’s been half-assing it while moping about how they didn’t let him do it how he wanted to, when more than likely he got over it and did his best.

The idea that the home stretch we’re entering is going to be pretty close to what was in the Original Plan is probably also correct.

Excellent little review, this sort of analysis in itself takes away quite a bit of the frustration. Way to go. :)

Actually, this makes a lot of sense if you think of Lelouch as Taniguchi and Rolo as the whole of R2. He doesn’t want it, but decides to use it as best he can to accomplish his original goals. Lelouch is constantly lying to everyone even when he has no reason to and telling the truth would save his life. Does Taniguchi feel like he’s lying to his fans by telling a story he didn’t want to??

Let’s get even crazier: OoBK (the S1 fanbase) betrays him / stops watching because they feel used when they learn the truth, and it’s all engineered by Schneizel (Sunrise) who started all this super robot inflation crap in the first place and wants more superweapons / toys to take over the world with / market.

Oh and Nunnaly can be the original S2 story, the object of Lelouch / Taniguchi’s affection that gets remade on the whim of the Emperor (studio execs). HOW MUCH MORE CAN WE READ INTO SHIT? I know that if I was the director of a show that was being zombified by beancounter zombies, I’d work as many Fuck You’s into the final product as I could.
