Euphy is a joke and so is the Special Zone
Hey guys, this has nothing to do with anything at all, I just feel like ranting after spamming posts at ADTRW to try to catch up to Nate in the R2 thread post count! I hate Euphy, I think she’s a joke, and I think the Special Zone would’ve failed miserably if it had been put into action.
Everyone take a look at this awesome map that I got off of Google images by typing “Japan” and “Mt. Fuji” then hitting enter. See the little red triangle where Mt. Fuji is? That was where the Special Zone of Nippon would have been, and only there. And the rest of the #ffad73 colored Japan? Yeah, still Area 11. Wow Euphy, you’re a fucking genius. Let’s make the area around Mt. Fuji a place where the restrictions against 11’s are gone, and the privileges given to Britannians are gone… while the rest of the area remains unchanged.
To the 11’s who would go along with the Special Zone, they would effectively be accepting Britannia’s inequality (zomg irony). Even though they would be “equal” inside of the Zone, the rest of their countrymen who aren’t in the Zone would be inequal still. Thus, those in the Zone would be equal to Britannian’s, but unequal to those out of those. Smooth.
Euphy’s motivation here is pretty fucking awesome, btw. “OMG I wanna be with Lelouch and Nunnally again, just like in childhood! If I make this Special Zone then invite him, as Zero, to come, then I win! YAY!” Honestly, it’s like the welfare of the 11’s was some kind of “added bonus” as a result of her desire to return things to “normal” from when they were kids. (And then this raises another point about how they can’t really fucking /gb2/childhood/ anymore but that’s for another day, maybe) That scene where Euphy is standing on top of Ganymede, with people around here saying “YIPEE EUPHY!” and what’s going through her head is the idea of her childhood, not the condition of the people who are cheering for her.
Lelouch’s approach, prior to the Euphinatorness, was that he would support the Zone, work with Euphy, and it would be sunshine lollipop rainbow glitter unicorn butterfly magic happiness kingdom. (Or something) I wonder how long this would’ve lasted though? See, because Euphy didn’t really stop to you know, consider the feelings of her countrymen, they in return really have little reason to consider her feelings or her ideas. There’s no motivation to make the Special Zone “work” outside of the Special Zone on Britannia’s part, so Britannia would keep being Britannia and the 11’s inside of the zone would eventually get pissed off and then we’re back to S1 01. Even before the ceremony for the Special Zone, there was ALREADY trouble going on due to its very announcement. Lelouch and Rivalz note this, but like any Britannian (read: a person who doesn’t give a shit), Rivalz brushes it off and says that it’s more important for Lelouch to fix his relationship with Shirley.
If Lelouch mobilized the Black Knights outside of the Special Zone to stop this shit, I think that would be a bit eyebrow raising. It would look like the Black Knights were associated with Britannia, and they were going around bullying people into supporting the Special Zone. Is that really the right image you would’ve wanted to give off to say, other Britannians? Furthemore, do the 11’s inside the Zone really want to look like they’ve bowed down to Britannia? A random nameless character voiced by Guilford’s VA points this out in S1 22, that the Area 11
Euphy might have “accepted” Zero, but the rest of her country did not, and she can’t make them accept him either. But I wonder if she realized that she was unable to change Britannia, and change her countrymen’s thoughts of Zero? Obviously not, though I guess it’s not really out of character for Euphy to be inconsiderate about other people! While she might act “nice” towards other people, she lacks understanding of people. Her niceness is likely a reflection of how she was treated: She was spoiled and doted upon by her older siblings, and the sound episodes show that EVEN SCHNEIZEL wanted to paint the world as a pretty picture for her. An occasional injection of reality now and then from Cornelia might’ve done her some good.
When I look back on the Narita episodes, I find the exchange between Cornelia and Guilford about Euphy wanting to see a real battle for herself really fucking amusing. Cornelia didn’t really want to take her, but Euphy was persistent about coming, and because Cornelia gives into Euphy all too easily, she took her along anyway. Ohnoes Cornelia, 15yrs of pampering the little pink haired cunt and you were a little hesitant to bring her out to Narita? Baaaw.
Oh, and more sisterly fun. In ep 9, Cornelia says that she’s eventually intending to hand Area 11 over to Euphy. This makes sense in that Cornelia is the commander of the fucking army and she can’t remain in Area 11 forever, but handing it over to Euphy? What the fuck? Isn’t Area 11 supposed to be the most militant and resistant colony of the Empire, and you want to hand it over to your 15 year old inexperienced and clueless as shit little sister? Yeah okay that’s not like going to cause problems or anything eventually at all. Look at how awesome Area 11 turned out under Clovis’s rule, what with the random full ghetto genocide going on and everything.
tl;dr = Euphy sucks and I’m glad she’s dead! Plus, her existence gave us the monstrosity that is Nina. FFFFFFFFFFF.
Also holy shit wtf I thought this was just going to be a short post with the, “THIS IS WHAT THE SPECIAL ZONE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN COMPARISON TO THE WHOLE OF AREA 11, LOL!” Rambling, fuck yeah.

XD Seriously, after all the facepalming i did on this issue though i gave up trying to explain to all the lunkheads why the special zone was just special shit. The applicants were all simply selling out their countrymen so that they could live comfortably.

so if this was such a bad idea then i guess that means Lelouch is either pretty stupid for going along with it (Before he geassed her) or that he never cared about the plight of the elevens and simply decided at that point he had to give up in his personal war against Britannia since peace would mean losing his personal army.
