Fuck Zero

I thought the Black Knights betrayal of Zero wouldn’t make any sense and that it would just run like another plot point on Taniguchi’s episode Power Point. From the audience PoV, they kind of suck without him. I questioned how much the magical tape recording would be able to sway them. Sure, Asahina, Chiba, and Minami have always kind of been like “Fuuuck Zero”, but they seemed to put up with him regardless. I figured they were a minority opinion and they just put up with him and stayed for other reasons. But when I thought these things, I was unaware that the tape recording would have Lelouch lying out of his ass and getting down on his hands and knees to try to appease Suzaku.
The signs of some of the Black Knights not being completely trusting of Zero are there. Minami has likely been emo and angsty ever since what happened during the Black Rebellion when Lelouch told him that anyone is fine to take over Ougi’s job and that Ougi was replaceable, but stuck around for the loli. Chiba is like “Fuck this shit” and sticks around ’cause she wants to get into Toudou’s pants. Asahina is a pretty lax dude, and him not favoring Zero almost seems like it came out of nowhere since during S1 he gave off the impression that he doesn’t give a shit. Rolo being there gives the Four (well, Two) Holy Swords a legitimate reason to be emo. Zero invited Rolo into the Black Knights without anyone’s consent, and Rolo uses the Vincent from that time when Urabe died. Rolo coming by and going, “Zero’s Trust = Your Worth” doesn’t really help either. Oh, and those grunts (Captain Kinoshita and whoever) feel bad about killing little kids and people at the Geass Cult.
The anti-Zero stuff isn’t mainstream in the Black Knights. What the plot needs to go from “We don’t really like you but we’re still here” to “Get the fuck out” was a way to turn that minority opinion into a majority one that could be shared by everyone in the Black Knights, and the Korean Blog let us know that some magical recording was going to do it. So, in our heads, we have this scene where someone is playing this magical recording and the recording has Zero going “I’M A FUCKING MAGICIAN WITH MIND CONTROL POWERS!
” and they all become anti-Zero in a seconds time and decide to trade him to the Empire for Japan’s liberation. That would be pretty fucking dumb, even for Geass. Now that the actual contents of the recording are known… yeah okay, this shit is feasible now.
It might even seem too perfect… “Oh some of you doubt Zero? Here I happen to have this recording which explains everything and says he has mind control powers. No this is not suspicious at all. Srsbsns.” But mind control powers is probably going to explain a lot to the Black Knights, like how he made Orange release Suzaku in the first place, and how he always creates his “miracles”. They might even tell themselves that he’s mind controlled them to join him in the first place.
How would Lelouch talk himself out of this? “Uh guys this is all fake plz believe me”? I think the Black Rebellion stuff is going to come up, about how he left them and they got oh you know captured by Britannia, and then it’ll be kind of downhill from there. Korean Blog sez they’re going to try to trade Lelouch to the Empire for Japan’s freedom.
So who’s sticking with Zero and who’s ditching him? Orange, Sayoko, Kallen, maybe Rakshata?, and moe blob C.C. probably confirmed as party members, but the others?
Ougi is fucking bailing on him. He wanted the Special Zone of Nippon to work really badly because of Villetta. Then along comes this recording where Zero admits he mind controlled Euphy to kill everyone so the Special Zone wouldn’t work. Yeah Ougi’s giving him the finger.
Diethard is also going to jump ship. The Zero who he worships is the one who would do shit like mind control people and create situations, but he likely doesn’t see him as someone who would grovel at the feet of the Knight of Seven, begging him to protect his little sister.
Without Diethard being a fag to him about staying in the Black Knights, Ougi will be free to do whatever and insert penis into Villetta at will.
Kaguya was pretty angry about the Kyoto Seven running away during Euphy’s massacre. She gave off the impression she gives a shit about her people, and is probably not going to be amused about the idea of Zero having Euphy do this on purpose. But who knows, her fangirl magic for Zero might be as strong as my fangirl magic for Schneizel.
Toudou has always been like “guys shut up we NEED Zero”, but Asahina is supposed to say something during the bombing that’s like the turning point for the Black Knights, which might include Toudou. My impression of Toudou is that he’s mostly tries to do whats good for the whole army, so he might actually have some doubts about Zero but doesn’t voice them in order to try to keep it all together.
Rakshata seems really 50/50. If the Black Knights were the cooperate with Britannia, I think she’d have her assistants carry her out on her chair trailing behind Zero so she doesn’t have to cooperate with Lloyd.
Dunno about the Chinese. They’re… probably the largest country in the United Federation of Nations. Xingke doesn’t have that much attachment to Zero as the others do to be so offended by this, but his heart is ultimately going to go with the Tianzi. And who knows what she’d tell him to do… Apparently she doesn’t use her small loli brain, etc.
Would they be able to like, kiss and make up after this? Maybe if they get their asses kicked without him, they’ll miss him and be praying for him to sweep in and save them. Arguably, Xingke would be able to fill in as he’s said to be as intelligent as Lelouch, but Xingke is kind of dying and now that he’s on their side, he also took an intelligence nerf since good is dumb.

I hate the Korean spoiler predictions but yeah, that’s all pretty likely to happen. XD Demo Schneizel is gonna save the day is he not? XD Neh, neh?
I also wonder if Sayoko WOULD take Diethard’s side rather than Lelouch’s for God Knows What Reason.

That would be pretty fucking dumb… and Geass ALREADY DID IT! Remember China? Coordinated rebellion in all major cities within MINUTES of Zero broadcasting that recording?

wait wat. wasn’t that all pre-planned/staged before hand? ’cause schneizel pointed out like, “…guys he was fucking waiting for something specific FUCK i suck what would the emperor have done y cant i red ur cards naoo ffffff”.

Perhaps they meant it to be have been pre-planned, but really, that would make ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE either.

the impression i got was that d’tard had been setting this up or something for a while, and thats why he was stuck in chinkland the whole time. D;
風の谷の名無しさん (August 5, 2008 @ 12:19 pm)
Yeah, but the whole thing with Her Loliness wasn’t anything Lelouch had predicted - he only did that because of the marriage. The only thing Diethard could have done was set up the possibility of some as-yet-unspecified broadcast.
Unless you assume that Lelouch’s original plan was to kidnap her and take her into a mountain ANYWAY.
風の谷の名無しさん (August 5, 2008 @ 12:22 pm)
Besides, what could Diethard have done anyway? Organize a rebellion on his own, that just need a single recording of the leaders being sort of assholes to set it off? In multiple cities across a whole continent?
Whocares (August 5, 2008 @ 12:26 pm)
The show did a poor but FABULOUS job of explaining this properly, but I believe Zero pretty much hijacked Xingke’s coup, planned nationwide rebellions and all, so even Diethard would have a little extra help in setting that up.
miasmacloud (August 5, 2008 @ 12:27 pm)
well, it’s geass - i don’t want to understand what’s going thru anyone’s head except for schneizel’s. (and i’m failing pretty miserably in that department btw. baaaw.)
i assume they provided them with [stuff] to [go throw at their government]. but mostly, when d’tard looks @ his comp and you see these magical stations/allies popping up over china, thats what makes it seem randomly pre-meditated.
i think the “general idea” was to help the chinese rebel, and it wound up happening how it happened with baaaw’ing chinkloli.

Most of the Black Knights are pawns anyway. Lelouch can just replace them with the Chinese Federation Army if he needed to.
The only one that might be hard to replace is propoganda-master Diethard. Not since Karl Rove has there been someone so good at spinning teh news to win the hearts and minds of teh pplz.
As long as he has Kallen, Orange, Rolo, Xing Ke and Raksharta he’s golden. He doesn’t even need Toudoh now that he has Xing Ke.
Can you even count Moe-CC as a party member? Now that she’s lost her immortality you can’t even use her as a human shield anymore. Worthless!
With the neo-Siegfreid, the Upgraded Guren, the Shinkurou and Geass Hax, Lelouch is unstoppable. Fuck the turncoats! Fuck them right in the ass!

except some lelouch fans will argue that lelouch is different from say, schneizel, because he, in his head, doesn’t consider his pawns to be “pawns”, but fellow soldiers etc, i pat your back = you pat mine. i don’t rly agree with that, but i think the implication is that lelouch is a picky bitch and he wants very specific pawns, rather than just RANDOM PAWNS lulz.

Pentacle (August 5, 2008 @ 8:34 am)
In Season One, if you remember, Lelouch had a different set of pawns that didn’t really listen to his directions resulting in Lelouch’s first loss to Britannia.
I think the only real requirement to be a pawn is to be totally obedient to Lelouch (at least on the battlefield), as Lelouch being the “King” or master-strategist needs pawns that will move according to his will/battle strategy in order to secure a victory.
I’m not even sure how the pre-Black Knight members managed to hijack C.C’s truck in Season One as they have consistently failed in every major engagement without Lelouch.

he lost then because cornelia = better than him, tbh. his pawns did listen, but once it became obvious that cornelia was just better in every aspect, they started giving up.
Spleener (August 5, 2008 @ 10:15 am)
Pretty sure that when the Knights turn on him the rest of the world is going to turn on him too. I mean, that’s the whole idea here, that all the lies and manipulation he’s been pulling over the last two years is going to come crashing down on him and the only people who will be left at his side are the people who care about *Lelouch*, not Zero (ie Orange, Sayoko, Kallen, CC.)

i predict kallen pretending to be a knight of rounds just to get out. suzakufag will turn his back on schneizel when he needs to fire the nuke. lelouch would be safe like this. even if the black knights hear the recording, they won’t give up their chance in taking back japan.

Spleener (August 5, 2008 @ 10:19 am)
As I commented above, the whole point here is that all the lying and manipulating he’s been doing over the past ~2 years is going to crash down on him hard when this comes out- the people who just knew/cared about Zero are going to turn against him, and the only people he’ll have left are the people who care about Lelouch, not Zero- Orange, Sayoko, CC, Kallen, and Rolo (until he dies, assuming those spoilers are right.)

According to the spoilers, ONLY the Black Knights turn against Lelouch/Zero, not the entire UNF.
So he’s still got Xing Ke ready to roll with his 40+ Nations. His Coalition of the Willing.
[Reply]
Whocares (August 5, 2008 @ 12:32 pm)
I’d think there’s a chance the UNF would be divided into pro-Zero and anti-Zero factions as well, even if the spoilers don’t really explain it clearly.
If not that, then they’ll all turn against him. Can’t see the UNF as a whole trusting him in any scenario.

the timing about the asahina disabling the bomb is all weird though. So Schneizel-kun airs the secret, the OoBK go OMG WTF is this some sorta Britannia Conspiracy? Suzaku throws a huge bomb at Lelouch, and Asahina somehow softens the impact which kills 10,000,000 (after its’ been softened), and tells them to not trust Zero, and the Japanese are out for blood in ep 19 (titled betrayal and brotherhood). I mean did they decide that the bomb was Lelouch’s fault or what?

wasn’t there something about him partially disabling it? or was that just one of the lame addons? Let’s speculate on Asahina’s last words then. It should be either . . . Zero, he’s actually not a Loli. or . . . Schneizel is fabulous. Those are 2 statements that would start a riot.
