Lelouch and Suzaku are both douchebags
…the reactions to Lelouch and Suzaku’s behavior in R2 14 are getting silly.
Both of them are douchebags, neither one is more right than the other, both of them are also completely delusional. Why is the internet shitting bricks, exactly. Were they completely unaware of how jackass-ish the two are until fucking episode 14 of the second season?

of course the geass fandom refuses to accept anything Lelouch does as wrong and they always give him an excuse. It just so happened that episode 14 happened to finally knock some sense into people so that they realized that Lelouch isn’t a good guy. heck Lelouch even says in the anime he isn’t trying to be a saint yet the fandom keeps saying everything he does is okay and everything Suzaku does is utterly evil.

Certain actions can be worse than others, but as individuals they’re both pretty messed up. So yeah.
I even admit to liking Lelouch more, but I’m under no illusions of his being a saint. Suzaku’s not a devil either, it’s just that’s he’s the default antagonist and you can’t really expect him to have as many fans.
And for that matter…Nunnally may actually be just as bad too, beneath her superficial kindness.
Whatever the case, I wouldn’t want to step on any of their toes, that’s for sure.

It’s been pretty clear from the start that Lelouch is entirely out for his own personal interest. Hell, he’s using the Japanese to aid him in a personal vendetta against Britainia. I’m not sure if people quite picked up on that… (as if naming people after chess pieces isn’t obvious enough that he has no regard for human)
I think Suzaku used to make sense. He was never as crazy as Lelouch, but right around Euphy’s death, that’s when I lost all respect for him. It became a personal vendetta for him as well. He at least wore the pretense of good for a little bit. Now he can’t do anything without relating it to Euphy.
That being said, I still like Lelouch. That may be because I’m a douche aswell.

no, it’s mostly because a lot people have already read the previews, which told us Lelouch is going to go eradicate the geass cultists. If you hadn’t read it then you might go OMG WTF at him ordering the massacre. Massacres though are bad. No moral ambiguity amiright? Nor does Lelouch pretend it is such.
The suzaku thing is two-fold: bastard is doing it to Kallen!! (Damn you!!) and where’s his moral high ground now? But seriously people are going off on this in the same who’s worse spiels, *sigh* will have to avoid the boards til this blows over.

I didn’t see anything in particular in thie ep that escalated Lelouch’s level of douchebaggery, he’s the same as always. Suzaku forcing Karen to take refrain, however, is a very sharp spike on the douchebagometer. A guy who’s tagline since the beginning of season 1 has always been ‘the method is more important than the results’ is now saying ‘I dont’ care about methods anymore,’ you can’t honestly try to harbor any respect for such a douche anymore. Lelouch is at least straightforward and honest about the ‘evil’ things he does, and he also always has a goal in mind. If Suzaku has a goal in mind other than to just be a prick, I have no idea what it might be.

Well, the fans worshipping Lelouch is kind of expected in a sad way, but it’s good to see that at least the WRITERS have stopped with that now. All that “hooray fireworks and friends, time to go back to being a terrorist!” stuff was getting pretty weird.

Everyone in Geass is a fag in his own way. Lelouch no less, Suzaku no more. People need to realize this simple truth and stop justifying (unjustifiably) one way or the other.
Also, I quite agree with cowboy with “‘the method is more important than the results’ is now saying ‘I dont’ care about methods anymore,’ you can’t honestly try to harbor any respect for such a douche anymore.” And maybe that’s Sunrise’s way of showing that Suzaku has finally grown out of his naive mindset to face reality. I wonder if this is Sunrise’s way of saying that the only way to get anything done in this world is to be a douchefag and mindfuck everyone else. I sure hope not lol.
