Speculation Corner
Magical whispers from Geass-land. z0mg teh anya. Dressy Kallen (also, her dad). The Twins (wat). Shirley’s fate?!
z0mg teh anya
When scans of a younger Marianne from her Knight days came out, people noticed her hairstyle here to the left with the ponytail looks similar to how Anya’s hair currently looks. The appearance similarity was joked about as a connection between the two until more recent developments! In the anime, Anya has pictures of Shota!Lelou on her phone and got Geass mindraped by C.C. when their KMF’s were just touching, which proved something was up about her. In the Knights of Rounds novel chapters being published in the Sneaker, Anya has pictures of Ganymede on her phone, though she doesn’t know why, and gets emotional after using Ganymede. Combined with her MISTERIOUS PAST (early R2 info said her origins = unknown), there are magical fishy things going on with Anya and Marianne. And since Marianne is Lelouch’s mom, that brings in the Evangelion Rei/Yui jokes. Theories thus far include: Anya is really Lelouch’s sister and has been Geassed by the Emperor, Anya is a clone of Marianne.
Kallen’s capture and dress
Not even sure how to summarize all of the Kallen speculation… Uh, it started with news of Kallen’s capture, this picture of her in a dress with her hair down, and knowledge of the Emperor’s memory rewriting Geass. After she was handed over from the Chinese to Suzaku, the internet tubes had a lot of “Kallen’s gunna get Geassed by the Emperor and fight for Britannia in the Guren!!11″ Cliche, but in a situation where she’s being handed over to the country with a known memory rewriter… There was also talk of Kallen’s father being involved since the [writer/director/i forget who said this srsly] has avoided saying stuff about him. The basic idea behind her fathers involvement was that he would pull some strings, take her back to the good ole momeland, and this would open up some Kallen backstory.
(Tangent: Kallen backstory would be nice, as we still have no idea exactly what happened to her brother or her motivation etc. But at this rate that’ll go in the novels that the English-speaking fanbase will likely never read, or in a Picture Drama.)
Anyway, episode 12 has aired, and now it seems like Nunnally is going to be responsible for Kallen’s dress as well as making sure she isn’t laying on the prison floor with a gag over her mouth when there’s food next to her.

So about that Nii-san thing
…YEAH OKAY SO I WAS WRONG ABOUT THAT BEING METAPHORICAL IT WAS LITERAL hurfdurf. So what does them being REAL BROTHERS mean? If the thing about the Emperor’s kids all having a decent Geass potential is true, then it’s likely connected to them being blood related. Geass runs in the family, or something.
Shirley is deathflagged?
I don’t have anything against Shirley, but I got DEATHFLAG’D vibes from the end of episode 12. Her conflicting feelings about Lelouch have returned. She was somewhat vulnerable and unstable the last time she was experiencing this, shooting at Villetta and Lelouch, and genuinely different from how she usually is. Now that she remembers… Yeah I don’t know. The way it was raining, etc, felt like deathflag.
If no deathflag, then maybe something drastic? It looks like, in the preview, Lelouch and Shirley take Suzkau along when they’re together. Somehow I get this idea that Shirley is going to lead them to some private place then tell Suzaku about what she knows and expect him to do something since he’s the Knight of Seven, who supposedly took Zero in last time.
Or maybe she will foil Orange’s EVIL PLOTS and send him blasting off again, for irony? Orange was using his cancel power on people at random. Shirley was not someone he was trying to un-Geass on purpose. Due to Orange’s role as the Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain, it would only be fitting if his plans are thwarted by Shirley in episode 13 due to an event set off by her remembering shit.

Or maybe it means nothing, like how the similar scenes with Suzaku and C.C. at the end of season 1 went nowhere, to the point that the director apparently said they decided to just drop that plotline.

C.C. was [trying to do something] when she lol’d Suzaku. You can tell by her reaction that what happened w/Anya wasn’t JUST AS PLANNED, since she has some backlash effect from it.
(But I guess that would mean that Geass would be “sense-making”.)

No, not the first time, the second time in episode 21 or 22 or something. The “He can see me?” bit.

ohic. they will prolly retcon it to be related to kamine island, since apparently that is what fux0r3d lelouch’s geass.

Or maybe you’re just jumping to conclusions in both cases and treating anyone else like fools?
If Code Geass ends this season, and I admit it’s decent IF, at least Anya’s case should see something more.
Suzaku’s may still get a short mention even if it doesn’t take the center stage. Even if it ends up being poorly written or just poorly shown on screen, that is not equal to “nothing” or “not making sense”.
As for that “apparently”…where did you read that?

No, like I said, I’m simply going by what the director himself said. They just decided to drop the storyline they had been setting up with that scene. It’s kind of hard to take a story seriously if the writers have that kind of attitude to it.
As for where, in interviews widely quoted on 2ch.

I don’t suppose you have some shred of information that may aid in finding that interview or just the statement?
Not that you have to do so, either way, but you can’t blame anyone for asking either.
PS: I could always stop if I get tired or if it really bothers you that much, whichever happens first.

I was trying earlier, but as threads on 2ch’s anime board are as ephemeral as dayflies, and I can’t recall the exact words used to Google for it, it’s turned out to be pretty hard.

PS: You were wrong about the nii-san thing because you expected the series to make sense! You should know better by now.

Making sense in a contrived manner would still make some sense.
Say, C.C. is apparently hundreds of years old, but perhaps she was human once. If that were true, she could well have had sisters having the Emperor’s age, which would also look fairly ridiculous at first sight.
Or, in the end, that correlation chart can be wrong or intentionally misleading.
How difficult is that?

The chart specifically calls the Emperor and VV “fraternal twins”, as in, same egg/mother, different gene make up. Fraternal twins are born at nearly the same time, so the internet is probably a little mystified at their convo from ep 6, when they could be all of seconds apart from each other in birth. As for the relationship chart, Celiss Galvea said before that the novels and [other stuff] hinted at them being real brothers, so it might not actually be misleading.

Could somebody translate the chart in full? It seems fairly interesing. I hope they fuck Kallen up majorly so that she or Suzaku die. Although, I reckon when Suzaku gets Geass cancelled he’ll go an hero.

I’v suspected for long time now that Anya may be Marrian (or a clone or something).. I have no idea why i though so, but now it seems to have some base.
I hate Suzaku for taking Karen! (I hate him, I realy do)
And about the twin shit… well, they do have the same hair style @_@.
Also now that Sharly got her memo back, she became stupid once again. I have to admit I liked the ‘non-memo’ Sharly better.
