Blind Crippled Loli

Nunnally is a topic of interest. We’re told that she is Lelouch’s reason for everything and he’s going to make a world that she can live happily in, but we never do hear much from her. So, the million dollar question: When did Lelouch ask her, “Nunnally, what kind of world would you live happily in”?

…Nunnally seriously didn’t know he was Zero?
In R2 06, we learn that Nunnally was unaware that Lelouch = Zero. Well, it’s not said out loud, but face it… Many things point to it! Starting with the obvious, Lelouch’s scream at the end of the episode followed by Nunnally’s surprised expression. No it’s not the strongest of reasons on it’s own, so I’ll add it up all up.

  • At the time that Zero came to get Nunnally, Nunnally had spoken on the phone with Lelouch. If she knew that Lelouch = Zero, then would she have been freaked out when Zero came on the transport ship?
  • Nunnally had inner thoughts where she asked her brother to give courage to face Zero. Would have been extremely weird if Nunnally had known Lelouch = Zero. “Brother, please give me courage. Against you.” Hurrr?
  • Her whole conversation with Zero. Really.
  • Nunnally called out for Suzaku when she was in the garden with Suzaku and Zero.

Etc.

Anyway, this is suspicious because, well, you know… One would think that a blind girl who has been living with her brother for like 7-8 years now would be able to identify him by his voice. In fact, of all of the people in the world, you’d think that if anyone could identify Lelouch by voice, it would have to be her.

…Nunnally seriously didn’t think it was weird at all that Lelouch told her to pretend to be strangers?
On the issue of R2 06 and “are you serious?”, does Nunnally have the intelligence of a one year old? The viewer is supposed to believe that Nunnally, having been without her brother for over a year, only thinks to herself, “Wow I wonder what happened between my brother and Suzaku?” after the phone conversation? …and that’s it?

What the hell.

When you take into account what else we know about Nunnally, which I get to below!, this is really fucking strange.

Childhood.
Her childhood self before Marianne’s death is presented as a bratty little girl in the uh, two? things we’re given. Look at the animation for S1 Ed 2, you see her run off with Marianne’s hat. Based on the clothes and location, it’s the same day that Clovis painted them. Sooo, Nunnally is misbehaving while Clovis is painting. As a result, Lelouch probably went “aw;ksdfk;ll24df@231%!11″ and ran after her to restore order.

Then, in the Visual Audio Drama/Picture Book 22.25, we’re shown a flashback to a night when Lelouch and Nunnally were guests at Euphie’s. Lelouch is trying to get Nunnally to go to sleep but she’s running around Euphie’s room. Later in 22.25, she sees a plate from their mother’s Knighthood and she wants it so badly. When Lelouch tries to remove it from her hands, she wrestles him for it resulting the plate to fall on the ground and break.

Arguably these actions are just normal child misbehavior stuff, however these actions she takes earn her Lelouch’s absolute attention. He took it upon himself to care for her. Being thought of as being blind and crippled is also something that would get Lelouch’s attention. Being thought of as blind and crippled is also something that got Lelouch to take it upon himself to care for her.

Well maybe Mao has a bondage fetish…
My first reaction to this scene was, “Mao, why did you tie up her ankles? Isn’t she crippled lol.” However, since it’s slowly coming to light that Nunnally keeps a few secrets of her own, there is possibly a deeper meaning here than just Mao being thorough or Mao secretly having some kind of bondage fetish. After all, Mao is a mind reader, and he spent plenty of time with Nunnally and in a respectable distance where he’d hear her thoughts and be able to filter himself to hearing only her thoughts.

Nunnally is an attention whore.
Nunnally and Lelouch’s childhood together created some sibling attention and attachment thing that Nunnally desires, and Lelouch shows his unconditional love and adoration for her.

There are a few scenes from S1 that hit home with her wanting attention from him.

The first one is early on in the series, ep 03. She’s eating dinner and some of her soup drips onto her chin because she’s trying to like, eat quickly so she can talk to Lelouch more. He’s started going out and doing his terrorist-y stuff at night. So basically, she misses him, and then Lelouch thinks to himself, “I need to hurry up and make the world where she can be happy”. She shows that she values her time with Lelouch.

(On an aside note: Lelouch, do you have tunnel vision? Were you mentally not there during the flashback in 23.95 where Nunnally tells Suzaku that as long as she has her brother that she’s happy? Hello sir is anyone home?)

Next, when Lelouch goes up to Narita with the Order, Nunnally and Sayoko have a discussion that goes like this:
Sayoko: He hasn’t been home at night lately. I wonder what he’s doing.
Nunnally: Idk. q_q
Sayoko: Lol maybe he has a girlfriend.
Nunnally: [pause] ……..yeah maybe. D:

OH NOES! Lelouch?! Interested in other girls beside his sister?! Ofux. Well, it’s not really what he was doing, but Sayoko isn’t stupid for suggesting that, in fact, it’s probably exactly what Nunnally was thinking, and her hesitation to reply to Sayoko shows her uneasiness with the thought.

Nunnally’s thoughts around this episode probably go like this: Crippled blinds get Sex Ed too! Lelouch is a growing boy! They have hormone and they have penises they like to stick in girls! Now that they’re older, the Little Sister Magic that Nunnally casted on him is starting to fade off, and she’s losing stock. So what is a little sister to do?

Get sick. (Maybe Lelouch finds ill girls moe and Nunnally uses that to her advantage?)

In episode 12, Lelouch takes the day off of school because Nunnally is sick and Sayoko has the day off. Normally, it isn't eyebrow raising for a girl to be sick. However, again we see Lelouch prioritizing her. Furthermore, Nunnally's physical condition are a slippery and confusing slope and you must wonder if she was really sick.

And the conversation they have at night in that episode is very "wtf".
Nunnally: Brother?
Lelouch: Oh hey your fevor went down.
Nunnally: I was sulking.
Lelouch: Sulking?
Nunnally: Ya... because you've become distant and I don't like that. q_q My body went, "Nowai, Lelouch come back!" and I magically got ill.
Lelouch: I WON'T CHANGE. I'LL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU EXCEPT FOR THE YEAR WHERE I LOSE MY MEMORIES AND YOU’RE IN BRITANNIA WITH SUZAKU.
Nunnally: :s Ohs can I be a selfish bitch then? Hold my hand lol. If I go to sleep by myself, my body will imagine you leaving me again and I’ll get sicker. D:

So, Lelouch goes to Narita for a weekend, and Nunnally’s body protested by getting her ill? O-O-O-Okay.

Jump ahead to episode 22-23.
In episode 22, Nunnally goes, “It’s okay brother I don’t want to see Euphie anymore it causes problems.”
In episode 23, Nunnally calls Lelouch and goes, “Never mind what I said last episode. I want to see Euphie again lolol.”
lolwut?

Awesome Analysis: Nunnally thinks that they can go back to how it was when they were children, thus… she wants to see Euphie again?! I guess! Indecision though, lol. Also, her timing was pretty fucking awesome here.

Nunnally isn’t actually blind and crippled, she’s obviously just lazy!
Seriously.

It’s already been hinted at that her condition is better than it appears. Recall what the aristocrats say in Lelouch’s flashback at the start of S1 07 - that Nunnally’s condition is caused by her heart. The supplementary Sound Episodes written by the head writer also dropped hints that Nunnally can/could walk. However, why on earth would she want to do that when she has two little dogs named Lelouch and Suzaku serving her?

Dark Nunnally.
There are often humorous things on the internet about Nunnally and Geass that basically go Nunnally has her eyes shut because she secretly has a Geass and this leads to lol theories about Nunnally secretly being the final boss and such. Seeing as how her blindness is something her “heart” did, it might as well be completely possible. With the way she has Lelouch’s balls in the palm of her hand, these theories aren’t all that impossible! In R2 06 when C.C. is like, “Rofl are you going to fight Nunnally?”, I couldn’t help but think to myself that that scenario is kind of what part of the internet wants to happen~

Moving more SRSLY along the issue of Dark Nunnally, there’s some vague, guesswork evidence that there is something special about Nunnally. A conversation that takes place in the Code Geass DS game during the S1 18 situation where the Emperor is seemingly talking to himself. The other person who he’s talking to has dialog written in the DS game. The other person asks him if they’re going to “use that daughter”. When you take into consideration that V.V. is with the Emperor, and V.V. took Nunnally at the end of S1, it can be logically deduced that Nunnally is the daughter the two were talking about. As R2 06 revealed, the Emperor didn’t tell her shit about Geass or Zero’s identity, so what are they using her for? Like all things in Code Geass, this is probably going to be ignored until like episode 20.

Nunnally’s response.
Likely, if Lelouch asked Nunnally what kind of world would make her happy, it wouldn’t be farfetched to think her response would be a world where Lelouch never leaves her side. She already said before that she’s happy as long as she’s with brother. In other words, the world before the series began was perfect to Nunnally. Oh my irony.
